Star Wars Zero Company received its 1.2 update on October 15, bringing Campaign Modifiers, balance changes, feature updates, and a sizeable collection of fixes.

The update has also attracted some extra attention from the game’s community. Reddit user u/Discipulum went digging through the new files and found several additions that do not currently correspond to anything players can access.

Spoiler warning: The rest of this article discusses datamined material that could relate to future Zero Company content, including possible characters, classes, abilities, missions, and locations. None of it has been announced or confirmed by Bit Reactor or EA, and anything found in the files could change, remain unused, or be cut completely.

A MagnaGuard named Crypt-Eye appears in the files

The most interesting discovery is a possible new playable character called Crypt-Eye, apparently an IG-100 MagnaGuard.

According to u/Discipulum’s datamine, the game’s character data now contains references to both a playable “Magnaguard CryptEye” and an enemy version of the same character. An enemy portrait is reportedly present in the files as well, depicting a heavily worn MagnaGuard with dark, scratched plating and visible damage across its chest.

Patch 1.2 also reportedly added roughly 75 voice-line slots associated with Crypt-Eye. The dialogue itself is not included, but the hooks reference combat actions and abilities such as Taunt Enemy, Heal Ally, Interceptor, Sworn Protector, mines, smoke, melee attacks, Overwatch, and a device called a Hijack Bolt. An Electrostaff ability icon was also found.

That certainly looks like groundwork for a combat-ready character, but it does not mean Crypt-Eye is guaranteed to become playable. The theory that players could first encounter the MagnaGuard as an enemy before recruiting it is also u/Discipulum’s interpretation of the files, rather than something stated by the developers.

Guardian could be a new Operator class

Potentially even more important for Zero Company’s broader tactical sandbox is a separate file for something called Guardian.

The datamine describes it as a class definition stored separately from Crypt-Eye’s own character data and structured in the same general way as Zero Company’s existing classes. New icons for Interceptor and Sworn Protector were also discovered.

Perhaps the most intriguing detail is that Patch 1.2 reportedly added Hawks voice hooks for Interceptor, Sworn Protector, and Detonate Mine. That led u/Discipulum to suggest Guardian may be intended as a full new Operator class that regular recruits, potentially including Hawks, could use rather than a specialization exclusive to Crypt-Eye.

Again, that last part is an inference. The files appear to contain a Guardian class entry and related ability hooks, but Bit Reactor has not announced a tenth general Operator class. Even if Guardian is in development, its mechanics could change substantially before players ever see it.

There are hooks for more than one character

Crypt-Eye and Guardian are only part of what u/Discipulum found. The new files reportedly reference an internally named DLC called “Nola” in roughly 30 places, although the actual DLC content is not included in Patch 1.2 and cannot simply be enabled.

Other hooks include two DLC-labelled missions associated with Runa, a Hijack Bolt gadget, a character called “Runa B1,” new Banking Clan enemy variants, and environment kits for Scipio and a location called Gulg. The dataminer speculates that some of these pieces could form a side story integrated into an ordinary campaign rather than a post-game expansion.

That interpretation remains speculative too. What is more concrete is that u/Discipulum says the Crypt-Eye hooks were not present in Patch 1.1, suggesting they are newly added development data rather than simply old material left behind since launch.

For now, nothing here is confirmed DLC

There is an important reality check to all of this that bears repeating: EA and Bit Reactor have not announced this content.

The official Patch 1.2 notes discuss Campaign Modifiers, balance adjustments, feature changes, and bug fixes. They do not mention Crypt-Eye, Guardian, the “Nola” name, Runa missions, new locations, or a future DLC release.

Datamined hooks can point toward work being prepared behind the scenes, but game development leaves plenty of abandoned experiments and changed plans in shipped files. Until Bit Reactor or EA says otherwise, the safest description is exactly that: potential future content discovered by a community dataminer, not an announcement.

Credit for the discovery and file analysis goes to u/Discipulum on Reddit, whose original post also separates what is directly present in the files from their own theories about how those pieces might eventually fit together.
