Just hours before the The Edge of Fate expansion lands, Bungie dropped a last-minute surprise: the full soundtrack is out.

This is the full audio experience meant to carry us into the “Year of Prophecy” and the upcoming “Fate saga.” With 19 tracks now confirmed, there’s a lot to absorb, especially for those who pay close attention to Destiny’s storytelling through sound.

Destiny 2 Soundtrack

What makes this reveal special is how it sets the emotional tone before players even load in. Music has always played a major role in Destiny, and based on the early preview, this collection leans into the intensity and mystery we expect from a new narrative chapter. Whether you care about lore, mood, or simply good soundtrack material for a playlist, there’s something here for everyone. Check our Destiny’s 2 DLC ranking.

Here’s What’s On the Playlist

So what are we hearing this time? The Edge of Fate soundtrack includes 19 tracks total. That’s 11 fresh compositions, 7 remixed or blended pieces, and a single new standalone tune that doesn’t follow the usual formula. The team behind the music includes familiar names like Pieter Schlosser, Brendon Williams, Rotem Moav, Josh Mosser, Troy Stains, Laryssa Okada, and Michael Sechrist. Destiny players will recognize some of these artists from past expansions.

Edge of Fate OST

So how did people get access already? The full playlist showed up in the Year of Prophecy Collector’s Edition. That version shipped with a digital soundtrack download. Because New Zealand hit midnight on July 15 earlier than most regions, players there were first to unlock and share the full tracklist. Naturally, VPN users followed shortly after, and now it’s circulating online.

One thing listeners pointed out quickly: this is a much shorter score than we’ve come to expect. The Final Shape and Lightfall delivered 38 tracks each. The Witch Queen clocked in with 32. Beyond Light had 34. Forsaken and Shadowkeep each had 22. Edge of Fate has 19. That’s not a bad thing by itself. It could mean tighter pacing and stronger cohesion, but fans are already debating what it says about the structure of this expansion.

Music That Actually Matters

In Destiny, music is part of how you feel the world. It’s present in every boss intro, every major reveal, and every story beat that lands with impact. It’s more than sound. It’s atmosphere. Each expansion has left its mark through its theme music, and Edge of Fate looks set to do the same. Whether you’re running strikes, exploring patrol zones, or listening in a cinematic moment, the new soundtrack is ready to match that energy.

The Destiny community is fully alert now. With hours left before the expansion goes live, social media, Discord servers, and streams are buzzing with speculation. Alongside all the sandbox talk and loadout theory crafting, this early soundtrack reveal feels like a final spark before launch.

Even after all these years, Destiny continues to evolve with new soundtracks that define each era. Whether this one becomes a fan favorite remains to be seen, but it’s already added fuel to the fire ahead of launch.
