Valve decided that with the new update it is time to make Dota 2 more welcoming to new players.
There are to major changes that will supposedly help newcomers more easily get to grips with the game. First of all, they will only see 20 of the game’s hereos, instead of the full roster. The choice will be curated by the developers suggesting those characters that are suitable for new players. This will coninue until 25 games have been played at which point all heroes will be unlocked.
The other big thing is matchmaking. The system will now connect new players with those with consistently high behaviour scores, which in simple terms means that you’ll probably meet fewer assholes. Skill is obviously also in consideration, but the nice actor plays a major role.
