Dragon Quest XI is set to release in Japan in 2017

No specific date is confirmed but you can watch an opening sequence and a gameplay trailer.

Little is known about the next Dragon Quest. It is now confirmed that the game will release next year in Japan with US/EU debut dates to be confirmed. Dragon Quest XI is under development for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

3DS gameplay will differ a bit in comparison with other console versions – you can see the difference in one of the videos attached below. An opening movie, a comparison video and an introduction video for one of the characters were also released:
