Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is getting another major paid expansion. The newly announced Knockout Expansion introduces the Brawler, a new dwarf built around getting considerably more hands-on with the Glyphid problem, alongside the Sandblasted Corridors biome and a new high-risk mission with fresh objectives and a boss encounter.

Funday Games and Ghost Ship Publishing revealed the DLC alongside Survivor’s upcoming PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 versions.

There is no release date for Knockout yet. Its Steam page is currently listed simply as Coming Soon, with the developers promising additional equipment and threats still to be revealed.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor - Knockout Expansion Reveal Trailer

The Brawler brings fists to Hoxxes

The headline addition is the Brawler, a new playable class focused on close-range combat and, judging by the reveal, a pair of substantial metal fists.

That already makes it one of Survivor’s stranger experiments.

The original Deep Rock Galactic remains built around its four established classes: Scout, Engineer, Gunner, and Driller. Survivor started with those same archetypes, but its single-player auto-shooter format has increasingly given Funday Games room to create classes that do not need to fit directly into the source game’s co-op roles.

The Brawler is another example of that freedom. Rather than being limited to existing DRG dwarves, Survivor can build an entire class around punching, melee equipment, and whatever new weapon interactions come with it.

A new biome, mission, objectives, and boss are coming too

The Brawler will be joined by the Sandblasted Corridors, a new biome expanding Survivor’s current pool of environments.

Knockout will also introduce a new high-risk mission with its own objectives and a boss encounter. Funday Games has not yet explained how that mission works, what the boss is, or how much new equipment will accompany the Brawler.

The Steam page is deliberately vague for now, saying only that the expansion contains additional content still waiting to be revealed.

That means the reveal trailer is more of a first look than a full feature breakdown.

Heavy Duty gives us an idea of how big Knockout could be

The best point of comparison is Survivor’s previous gameplay expansion, Heavy Duty, which launched on April 30, 2026.

That DLC introduced the Demolisher, the first completely new class in Deep Rock Galactic history. Instead of fighting on foot like the original four dwarves, the Demolisher operates the weaponized Rockdozer.

Heavy Duty also added 11 weapons, the Glacial Strata biome, and the Egg Hunt mission with its own Brood Nexus boss encounter.

That does not guarantee Knockout will contain the exact same amount of content, but it gives a useful indication of what Funday considers an expansion-sized addition to Survivor. A new character here can mean much more than a different passive bonus. It can bring its own weapons, playstyle, environment, and mission structure with it.

For now, Knockout has no confirmed launch date or price. What it does have is another class that would be difficult to imagine inside the original game’s fixed four-dwarf structure.

The Demolisher brought a Rockdozer. The Brawler is bringing fists. Survivor is clearly getting comfortable doing things its parent game never could.
