CCP’s hit space MMO EVE Online is going to introduce a Free-to-Play option on November 15th, first announced and explained back in August in a developer video.

When it arrives the players will be able to choose a Free to Play character with some limitations relative to the paid options. There will be fewer skills to learn, only certain ship classes will be available, and the skill acquisition will be slower.

EVE Online is famous for its steep learning curve, dedicated player base and a wide variety of activities players can engage in. Combat, trading, exploration, or mining are just a few professions and options open to anyone interested.

Until the update is implemented, EVE Online remains in its current Pay-to-Play model with a monthly subscription. For the curious, there is a 14-day Trial available.
