Evolve’s creators are developing a free-to-play shooter

Turtle Rock Studios plans to create a game set in a fresh universe.

After the success of Left 4 Dead the expectations for Evolve were at the highest level. 2K Games’ decision to release the game full-priced and then flood it with various DLC is the reason this title died as quickly as possible. Even after the free-to-play update it was impossible to gather the community once again.

Now Turtle Rock Studios in cooperation with Perfect World Entertainment is developing a fresh IP. This time it’s going to be a free-to-play title from the start. “Heart-pounding moment-to-moment online co-op FPS action” is promised.

No details were given but we hope for more of the familiar formula – co-op missions, hordes of enemies and maybe, just maybe, another take on asymmetrical multiplayer. Fights 4vs1 weren’t that bad, you have to admit!
