What’s up, Remedy fans? Your favorite company, the makers of Alan Wake and the like, has just dropped a fun new game for online co-op enthusiasts.
Meet FBC: Firebreak, a crazy shooter set in the Control and, by extension, Remedy Connected Universe.
You play as members of the Federal Bureau of Control. Your HQ, the Oldest House, is being invaded by horrific monstrosities from another dimension and it’s up to you to cleanse the world of this scum.
The game boasts one interesting little feature. You can use Overwatch-style ultimate abilities, but with one caveat. As the developers put it, they’re more like a “jaguar in a cage.” This means that the Altered World artifacts with great powers can easily backfire if you’re not careful.
The developers will of course update FBC: Firebreak with new content over time. And the game’s been designed to be easy to pick up, not a chore like many similar titles on the market. Will it achieve success? Time will tell, of course, but it’s got what it takes to carve its own shooter market niche.
