007 First Light has received its first major free DLC, Extended Operations. Released October 1 as part of Update 1.3.0, it adds New Game+, 00 difficulty, Photo Mode, four Aston Martin Valhalla challenges, a new Vietnam TacSim mission, expanded loadouts, and more than 700 fixes and improvements.
The update targets several of the most requested features since launch while giving players more reasons to return after finishing Bond’s campaign.

Everything added in Extended Operations
The headline addition is New Game+, unlocked after completing the campaign on any difficulty.
Players can replay missions while retaining unlocked outfits and using two new customization features. Mission Wardrobe lets Bond change outfits during a New Game+ run, while Gadget on Demand allows unlocked gadgets to be swapped during missions instead of waiting for the next chapter.
Completing the story also unlocks 00 difficulty, the game’s toughest setting. Enemies spot Bond faster, react more aggressively to bodies and distractions, deal more damage, and give players tighter windows for parries and side-steps. Some guards are also replaced by tougher variants.
New Game+ and 00 difficulty are separate options, so players can use the new customization tools without committing to the hardest setting.
Photo Mode and combat improvements
Photo Mode finally arrives with controls for camera position, lens settings, brightness, filters, character poses, backgrounds, logos, and UI visibility.
IO Interactive has also improved weapon animations across the arsenal, including reloads, aiming transitions, weapon changes, and throws.
Enemies can now throw Bond from ledges too, giving guards access to one of his own favorite tricks.
New Valhalla and Vietnam TacSim missions
Extended Operations also expands TacSim, First Light’s replayable challenge mode.
Valhalla Protocol introduces four missions built around the Aston Martin Valhalla in the Slovakian Mountains. The car comes equipped with machine guns and missile launchers, turning the challenges into high-speed combat runs built around destroying targets and chasing better scores.
The second major addition, Jungle Heist, sends Bond back to The Pearl resort in Vietnam.
The mission tasks players with infiltrating a heavily guarded villa and retrieving classified documents from a safe. The property has been redesigned with additional stealth routes, including rooftop access, and IO says attempts can play out differently depending on player choices.
TacSim can now draw from more of the campaign’s weapon pool as well, with additional weapons and outfits available across the mode.
| Feature | What it adds |
|---|---|
| New Game+ | Replay with unlocked outfits and more flexible gadget access |
| 00 difficulty | Faster, tougher enemies and less forgiving stealth and combat |
| Photo Mode | Camera, lens, pose, filter, brightness, and framing controls |
| Valhalla Protocol | Four armed Aston Martin Valhalla challenges |
| Jungle Heist | New infiltration mission set at The Pearl in Vietnam |
Update 1.3.0 also contains more than 700 fixes and improvements covering crashes, progression blockers, UI, audio, localization, clipping, and other technical issues.
What is 007 First Light?
007 First Light is IO Interactive’s original Bond origin story, following a 26-year-old James Bond before he earns 00 status.
The game launched on May 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version also announced.
Gameplay combines cinematic action with IO Interactive’s systemic design. Missions can involve stealth, social infiltration, gadgets, hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and driving sequences, giving players more direct action than Hitman while retaining multiple ways to approach encounters.

How has the game been received?
First Light has had a strong first few months. IO Interactive announced in August that the game had passed 4 million copies sold during its first three months.
Steam reception remains Very Positive, with around 90% of more than 18,500 English-language reviews positive during our October 2 check. Critical reception was positive overall too, with reviewers frequently praising its cinematic presentation, melee combat, espionage fantasy, and flexible mission design.
Extended Operations now strengthens one of the obvious post-launch areas: replayability. New Game+, 00 difficulty, additional TacSim missions, and Photo Mode all give completed campaigns more life without putting the additions behind a separate DLC purchase.
