Five teams of twenty can now fight in Fortnite's new mode

A good day for fans of battle royales.

You know Fortnite Battle Royale? The alleged PUBG ripoff, only with bright and colorful grpahics and a dose of wackiness instead of glum video game realism? Yeah, that one. Fortnite likes experimenting, as evidenced by the introduction of building into the BR mode, as well as a recent temporary mode letting two teams of fifty players duke it out among themselves.

Now a new temporary mode is up on the servers, this one divides the players into five teams of twenty to change things up once again. It’s an interesting prospect, and this change is sure to result in some new dynamics emerging for the event’s duration. Who knows, maybe it will even stay instead of sailing away-away.

Either way, the new battle mode is up today, and anyone can check it out because Fortnite: Battle Royale is free to play.
