And it is free to play.
Epic Games Fortnite teased a new game mode a couple of weeks ago and now it is ready to launch. The Battle Royale section of the game is free to play.
It allows 100 players to be pitted against each other on a large scale map and use the game’s base building and shooting to be the last person remaining on the map.
The popularity of the Battle Royale genre renaissance can definitely be attributed to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds which sold millions of copies, has millions of people playing and broke almost million records.
It comes as no surprise then that Bluehole, the devs behind PUBG, had some things to say about Epic’s game. There was some inhibition as to copying elements of the highly popular Battle Royale extravaganza. For now, those are just comments:
“We are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known.”
