A decade! A full decade since the last game saw the light of day we were finally graced with a trailer for a new GTA. What awaits us in Grand Theft Auto VI?
First of all, it will be a treat to any long-time fan of the series, because we’re coming back to Vice City for the first time in nearly twenty years, and more than that since the legendary GTA: VC. However, now it’s Vice City of the modern era, as the trailer wastes no time proving. Just see for yourself,
For now, the details are scarce at best, but the trailer suggests a typical GTA gameplay: open-world crime, exploration, and interacting with the exaggerated version of contemporary American culture, so everything is in place for the new adventure in mock-Miami to be as exciting as any prior GTA.
We can expect a dual protagonist, after the previous game’s three playable characters made a big impact. At the moment we only know half of the duo: a woman called Lucia, whom the trailer first shows leaving prison on parole. We don’t know yet who her partner in life, love, and crime is, but his presence suggests it might be Rockstar’s take on the all-time classic Bonnie & Clyde-like story updated for the modern day. Only time will tell.
GTA 6 is currently planned for a 2025 release for PS5 and XSX, with no official plans involving PC, which might simply mean a staggered release.
