PC players just got a huge visual upgrade — DLSS 4 support is now live in Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, alongside new Drift Week content in GTA Online.

Rockstar just rolled out a fresh update for GTA 5 Enhanced on PC. The highlight is support for DLSS 4, a major leap in performance and visual fidelity for players with modern NVIDIA GPUs.

Alongside the technical upgrades, GTA Online is kicking off a fresh round of car-focused content with Drift Week. If you’ve stepped away for a while, this is a good time to plug back in.

GTA 5 DLSS 4 Update

DLSS 4 uses multi-frame generation, allowing your system to create extra frames using AI rather than relying solely on GPU rendering. If you’re on an RTX 50 Series GPU, you can see up to a 3.9x frame rate increase at 4K with ray tracing on and settings maxed out. Mid-tier resolutions like 1440p and 1080p still see strong results, with a 3.1x average boost reported in NVIDIA benchmarks. Some players are even hitting the game’s 500 FPS cap, depending on their setup.

While RTX 40 Series cards support DLSS Frame Generation, the full multi-frame tech is exclusive to the 50 Series. If you’re on a 20 or 30 Series, you still get upscaling benefits, but without the new AI frame insertion. DLSS 4 also introduces a transformer-based neural network, improving image clarity on small objects like wires, fences, and vehicle details. It’s also more memory-efficient, using up to 30 percent less VRAM compared to DLSS 3. You get better visuals, faster frame rates, and a smoother overall experience.

Most importantly, DLSS 4 support applies to both GTA 5 Enhanced and GTA Online, so your performance gains carry over no matter which mode you prefer. And if you own the older PC version, you can upgrade to Enhanced for free with no hidden costs or bundles.

GTA Online Drift Week Hits

In GTA Online, Drift Week brings a fresh set of car rewards, events, and tuning options. Here’s what’s live right now:

  • Declasse Drift Walton L35 (Off-Road) is free through August 27 at Southern San Andreas Super Autos
  • Completing any Drift Race unlocks the Painted n’ Shaded livery for the RUNE Cheburek
  • Use the Dinka Jester RR in a Drift Race to earn the Drift Gorilla Green livery
  • Earn double GTA$, RP, and LS Car Meet Rep in the Los Santos Car Meet Series

There’s more on the way. Rockstar confirmed new seasonal content is coming later this summer and into the fall. Expect a brand-new Survival Mode, limited-time Halloween content, and a GTA$1 million giveaway scheduled for next week. These events will rotate through September and October, keeping the pace steady until bigger updates arrive.

The Drift tuning system also got some under-the-hood tweaks. Four new cars the Gauntlet Hellfire, Karin Hardy, Dominator FX, and Chavos V6 now support custom drift configurations. You can adjust handling and upgrade traction for more control during races. If drifting isn’t your style, the updates still bring cosmetic options and rep bonuses worth grabbing.

GTA 5 Keeps Rolling

GTA 5 launched in 2013, but Rockstar keeps finding ways to keep it relevant. DLSS 4 is a meaningful visual leap, and Drift Week adds replay value for longtime players. Even with GTA 6 confirmed and in development, the studio continues to support GTA Online with consistent updates, community events, and quality-of-life improvements.

The community is still active and engaged. Some players are chasing down theories about the Mount Chiliad mural. Others are digging through files for hints of collaborations or storyline extensions. Rumors have floated recently about a possible Travis Scott appearance in GTA Online, though Rockstar hasn’t confirmed anything yet.

With strong performance, new incentives to play, and a loyal fanbase, GTA 5 isn’t showing signs of slowing down. Whether you’re chasing livery unlocks or just looking for smoother frame rates on your new hardware, this update makes it easier than ever to jump back in.
