Alas, the wait will be a little bit longer. Rockstar moved the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI to May 26, 2026 from the original 2025 release window. Well, this certainly gives other game developers a room to breathe.
But this fact certainly is disappointing for a lot of the fans. Well, the longer the wait, the longer the developers can work on GTA 6, shaping it into the masterpiece it is to become. The extra time will be used to polish the game and ensure it meets the expectations of gamers all over the world. And those, after the critical and commercial successes of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, are obviously gargantuan.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be initially released on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. While the PC version hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, it will very likely be released at some point in the future as well. The game is set in modern-day version of Vice City known from GTA: Vice City, based on real-life Miami, and features a duo of protagonists compared to Bonnie and Clyde.
