After over a year in early access, Hades II has a confirmed 1.0 release date: September 25, 2025. The roguelike sequel from Supergiant Games launches the same day as Silent Hill f, setting up a clash of two highly anticipated titles!
Ever since it shadow-dropped in May 2024, players have been eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Hades 2 1.0 launch date. The time has finally arrived, and as announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, the highly anticipated Supergiant Games sequel will release on September 25, 2025, for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. But is this really the best day for this roguelike masterpiece to leave Early Access?
Hades 2 Release Date Confirmed for September 25, 2025
While its predecessor followed the story of Zagreus, Hades’ son, attempting to reach Olympus, Hades 2 focuses on Melinoë, the younger sister of the protagonist from the previous installment. In addition to a new storyline, this brand-new title features several gameplay improvements developed during community-supported testing. This isn’t the first time a developer has benefited from its fan base’s help, as more and more creators (especially indie ones) value the tradition of shaping their titles in limited access – like Larian Studios with their Baldur’s Gate 3, which remained in development for almost three years.
While September this year is a particularly joyful time for fans of anticipated indie hits, thanks to Hollow Knight Silksong launching earlier that month (for which players have been waiting for over six years), the Hades 2 release date raises some concerns. As it turns out, the sequel will hit stores on the same day as Silent Hill f, the upcoming game from NeoBards Entertainment, marking a new chapter in Konami’s legendary survival horror series.
But why is this even an issue? While these titles represent completely different genres, many players enjoy both, so they may struggle to decide which game to prioritize. Such a wealth of anticipated releases can lead to backlog clashes, the fear of feeling behind on content, or rushing through the video game they decided to play first.
All this information makes us wonder if Supergiant’s next project will follow a similar early access development route. What do you think? What’s more, it’s a joyful and somewhat stressful time for fans of each game, so the only question remains: which one will you choose on the launch day? Or maybe you’ll try juggling both? Let us know!
As a reminder, Hades 2 launches on September 25, 2025, on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Silent Hill f debuts the same day on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
