Helldivers 2 has a battle plan for the rest of 2026. Arrowhead Game Studios has declassified a new roadmap covering September through December, with two Warbonds, new missions, another biome, a fresh enemy, Liberty Day celebrations, and Major Update 8.0 waiting at the end of the year.
The interesting bit is not just what Arrowhead revealed. It is what the studio did not reveal. November is conspicuously empty, while December’s big update is still mostly classified.

What did Arrowhead announce?
Arrowhead published the updated roadmap on August 31, saying the next stages of the Galactic War had been declassified and outlining planned deployments through December.
The roadmap starts from Major Update 7.0: Devoid of Liberty, which arrived on August 12. That update pushed the Illuminate storyline into the Void, added the Wretch and Crusher, introduced SEAF support on affected planets, and raised the level cap from 150 to 300.
In other words, the new calendar is less a completely separate roadmap and more the next chapter following Devoid of Liberty. September and October gradually build from 7.0, before December jumps straight to the next major milestone.
September: Update 7.1 and a new Warbond
Update 7.1 is scheduled for September. Arrowhead currently lists a new Warbond and two new rewards, but the roadmap does not reveal their names or contents.
That makes September the quietest confirmed content month before December. There is fresh gear coming, but no announced biome, enemy, or major mission expansion attached to 7.1 yet.
It is also worth remembering that Warbonds do not disappear after release. If the September drop contains something useful for your usual loadout, there is no need to treat it like a traditional limited battle pass.
October: Update 7.2 is the big one
If September is the warm-up, October’s Update 7.2 looks like the real late-year content drop.

The roadmap associates this part of the calendar with the Terminid front, so bug hunters finally have something nasty to look forward to again.
Liberty Day is celebrated on October 26 in the Helldivers universe, making the second half of October an obvious period to watch. Arrowhead has not yet given Update 7.2 an exact release date.
There is another confirmed October addition outside the roadmap’s main bullet points. Arrowhead previously announced that the M-103 Supply FRV will become permanently available in October, giving squads another reason to return even if they missed its earlier campaign appearance.
Why is November empty?
This is the part everyone noticed immediately.
The roadmap moves from October’s Update 7.2 directly to Major Update 8.0 in December. Nothing substantial is currently listed for November.
Players have already connected that suspiciously empty box with the November launch of GTA VI, but Arrowhead has not said that is the reason. It could simply be development time for the next major Helldivers update.
More importantly, an empty roadmap box does not necessarily mean the Galactic War stops. Major Orders, campaigns, balancing, fixes, and other ongoing activity can continue without receiving their own numbered content update.
December: Major Update 8.0 is still classified
December closes the roadmap with Major Update 8.0, and Arrowhead is clearly keeping the interesting bits under wraps.
The roadmap associates December with the Automaton front, but that is about as far as the confirmed information goes. Cyberstan theories, returning enemies, new ships, giant machines, and other community predictions remain exactly that: theories.
There is at least one separate December date we already know. Arrowhead says the Helldivers 2 x Killzone Legendary Warbond will return permanently on December 18. Players who previously purchased at least one of the old Killzone items are set to receive the full Warbond automatically.
That announcement is separate from Update 8.0, so it should not be treated as a reveal of what the major update itself contains.
Quality of life, campaigns, and evergreen updates
The numbered patches are only part of Arrowhead’s plan. The roadmap also keeps an evergreen track running alongside them, covering quality of life work, new and continuing campaigns, campaign rewards, and other ongoing improvements.
That matters in Helldivers 2 because some of its best moments have never behaved like conventional DLC launches. New threats, campaign twists, rewards, and battlefield changes can arrive as part of the Galactic War rather than waiting for a giant expansion banner.
The roadmap therefore gives us the skeleton of late 2026, not every surprise Arrowhead plans to throw at squads between now and New Year’s Eve.
