The Hitman series hasn’t seen its last light yet, even as IO Interactive is working hard on its upcoming James Bond game.

What’s in Store for Agent 47 and 007?

Fans of the sour-faced killer for hire do not need to worry about never staring at his bald head again. In an interview with Variety IOI CEO Hakan Abrak stated in no uncertain terms that the series will return and the World of Assassination trilogy wasn’t the end.

Abrak stated that:

“of course there will be more ‘Hitman,”

reasonably adding that:

“right now, I think [IOI] need to get to the other side of this year and next year you’ll get more news about ‘Hitman’ co-op”.

The Hitman co-op mode, starring agents Stone and Knight (first namedropped a long time ago in Hitman Sniper) was revealed back in June, so it’s nice to see a confirmation that it is still coming.

Co-op reassurance aside, the interview is probably as close to a Hitman 4 announcement as it gets until an actual game reveal, although the number attached might not necessarily be “4” at all. It will probably still star Agent 47, however.

Real Slim Shady, Please Stand Up

Coming back to Hitman, if you own the World of Assassination trilogy, there is a brand new Elusive target available right now until December 31st. The time-limited mission has 47 hired by Eminem to eliminate his alter ego, Slim Shady. A delightfully cheeky premise, as Elusive Targets tend to be.

In addition to 007 First Light, (releasing in March 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation5, and Nintendo Switch 2), and whatever Hitman is being considered, IOI is also working on something they call Project Fantasy. It’s an entirely new IP we are told very little about, but might end up being about something other than sandbox stealth.
