An interesting news dropped recently that concerns the upcoming blockbuster game of CD Project Red.

CDPR recently announced an interesting collaboration with the studio, Digital Scapes. They don’t really develop and publish games, but they are seasoned veterans of the industry, having worked on many multiplayer components of games past, most recent one being Dying Light‘s Left 4 Dead-esque asymmetrical multiplayer.

The announcement simply reads:

Digital Scapes will closely cooperate with CD Projekt Red on creating and optimising technological solutions for use in the development of Cyberpunk 2077.

Which, hold your guns there bucko, doesn’t mean Cyberpunk is going to have a multiplayer component. It might be pretty difficult to implement in, after all, with a game this reliant on its story. But as I’ve said in the past, Cyberpunk seems to take a lot of eues from Mass Effect, and Mass Effect 3 had a famously fun multiplayer, so it’s not like it can’t be done (Mass Effect 3 also had the worst ending in the history of storytelling, but I choose to believe this is not a necessary trade-off).

So for now, we wait. Cyberpunk 2077 in its entirety is still a distant dream, but it’s a one that will have arrived before you even realize that it did. In the meantime, make sure to have an updated PC because come 2021 (I’m being generous here), you’re going to want a seriously decked out machine for this bad boy.
