So, the bad news is that the mobile-oriented spin-off, Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link got cancelled. The reason provided in the official statement says that it ended up being “difficult for [the studio] to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time”.
Unfortunate for all who hoped for the GPS-driven RPG, hopefully the game wasn’t planned to be the source of the one piece of information that makes Kingdom Hearts IV plot work.
Speaking of KH4…
Good news for all who wait for the sequel. The launch is still far off, but the official X account of Kingdom Hearts released a few screenshots to tide you over until the next batch of news about the game.

It looks quite spectacular, a glow-up comparable to that of modern Final Fantasy games, although only time will tell if the semi-realistic aesthetic works for this particular series.
When is KH4 releasing? In the unspecified future, for now.
