The long-awaited PlayStation game The Last Guardian is finally completed and ready to start distribution procedures. The game was first announced in 2007 and has been in development for many years.

The game’s gold status was first confirmed in a now-deleted tweet from Jun Yoshino, the Sony Interactive Entertainment producer. The tweet read “Gone Gold. Waddup.”.

At a later date Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios confirmed the game’s status in his own tweet:

The game will bring back some gameplay elements known from the developer Team Ico’s previous games, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, and will tell the story of a young boy working together with a large cub of a bizarre species local to the game’s world.

The Last Guardian is scheduled for release on 6 December 2016.
