Minecraft’slo-fi aesthetic has been charming for the entirety of its existence, but people who crave more realistic graphics have always had to rely on various mods. It’s about to change.
The Vibrant Visuals update’s release date is June 17th (that’s tomorrow, at the time of writing), and it’s going to drastically shift what your Minecraft worlds will be able to look like. The lighting will be softer, textures will reflect the materials they are based on, water will be more sparkly.
The trailers do look quite lovely, and it’s going to be interesting to see how, if at all, it influences the builds people come up with.
The update will first come to Bedrock, while Java is planned to follow sometime in the future.
The update will also include the Chase the Skies content, which means Happy Ghasts are coming in full capacity as well.
If you don’t have Minecraft yet, get it now, and begin your adventures. There’s much to discover.
