Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Fresh Start Suit Announced
Insomniac Games is adding another free suit to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, giving Peter Parker a new look inspired by the next live-action Spider-Man film.
The outfit is officially called the Fresh Start Suit. The name fits the current direction of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, who is entering Spider-Man: Brand New Day in a world where people no longer remember him.
For Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players, this is a simple but welcome update. It will not add missions, villains, side activities, or new story beats, but it does give players another movie-style suit to use while swinging through Marvel’s New York.
Worth Knowing: The Fresh Start Suit is for Peter Parker, not Miles Morales.
Release Date and Platforms
The Fresh Start Suit arrives in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on July 28 through a free game update.
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Suit Name | Fresh Start Suit |
| Game | Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 |
| Update Date | July 28 |
| Price | Free |
| Platforms | PS5 and PC |
| Inspired By | Spider-Man: Brand New Day |
Players should only need to download the update once it goes live. After that, the suit should be available in-game as part of Peter’s suit collection.
How It Connects to Spider-Man: Brand New Day
The timing is no accident. The Fresh Start Suit arrives just before Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the next live-action Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland.
Sony describes the movie as a new chapter for Peter Parker, who is fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that no longer remembers him. That setup lines up perfectly with the “Fresh Start” name, which suggests a cleaner, rebuilt identity for Peter after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has already leaned heavily into suit collecting, so adding a movie tie-in outfit is a natural move. It gives players a way to celebrate the new film inside the game without changing the story or adding paid content.
No, This Is Not Story DLC
Anyone hoping this update means new story content should keep expectations in check.
Insomniac previously confirmed that it had no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. That means the Fresh Start Suit should be treated as a cosmetic bonus, not a sign that a larger DLC campaign is suddenly coming.
That may be disappointing for players who wanted a Venom expansion or another post-game adventure, but it fits the game’s post-launch pattern. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has continued to receive suits, features, updates, and PC support without moving into a full story expansion model.
Important: The Fresh Start Suit is free, but it is not a new mission pack, expansion, or story chapter.
Why This Suit Matters
Even without story DLC, the Fresh Start Suit is a smart fan-service update.
Movie suits are always among the most requested cosmetics in Spider-Man games. They let players recreate a specific era of the character, and they often become favorites for free-roam swinging, Photo Mode, and New Game Plus runs.
It is free
Players on PS5 and PC do not need to buy DLC to use it.
It ties into the movie
The suit lands right before Spider-Man: Brand New Day reaches theaters.
It gives Peter another look
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 already has a huge suit library, and this adds one more cinematic option.
For returning players, this is also a good excuse to reinstall the game, swing around the city for a while, and test the suit in Photo Mode before the movie releases.
