MindsEye, the upcoming action game from GTA co-creator Leslie Benzies, is set to launch in just a few days — and it’s already stirring up excitement among fans of sci-fi, gangster drama, high-speed chases, and explosive action.

Cinematic trailers have teased an impressive-looking world, intriguing characters, and a story packed with promise. But now, thanks to an official MindsEye gameplay teaser, we have a much clearer idea of what the game will actually feel like — and it’s looking good.

What the Gameplay Teaser Reveals

IGN recently released a hands-on gameplay preview that gives us a look at pretty much everything the game has to offer — from the game mechanics and character models to the game world and standout features designed to set MindsEye apart from other titles in the genre.

A Preview of the Core Gameplay

Based on what we’ve seen in the teaser and trailers, MindsEye is shaping up to be a third-person action game set in Redrock, a desert region in the American West, sometime in the near future. The game blends action, strategy, and agility-based challenges, giving us a mix of fast-paced and tactical gameplay.

You’ll take on a variety of missions that involve defending and attacking, securing key buildings, and completing objective-based combat scenarios. There’s gunplay, high-speed car chases — and even space exploration. All of this is wrapped in a world filled with futuristic tech: drones, robots, implants, and sleek sci-fi weaponry.

The game’s title, MindsEye, also refers to a powerful in-game technology — a cybernetic eye implant connected to a companion drone, which adds a unique layer of strategy and immersion to the gameplay.

One standout feature is a mission and map editor — a tool that lets us build our own custom scenarios from scratch and then play them out in-game. It’s an exciting addition that opens the door to endless creativity and replayability.

Visuals and Game Engine

Let’s be honest: trailers often look great, but actual gameplay doesn’t always live up to the hype. Fortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case here. The gameplay teaser shows a large, richly detailed world with high-quality character models and smooth animations. And no wonder — the game is built on Unreal Engine 5, taking full advantage of its next-gen features.

It’s hard not to notice the visual style similarities to what we’ve seen in early previews of GTA 6. And while Benzies hasn’t worked with Rockstar since 2016, MindsEye definitely carries some of the same cinematic flair and high production value.

First Community Reactions

MindsEye is set to release on June 10, 2025, and the hype is building fast. Fans of open-world action games in the vein of GTA are especially eager to get their hands on it.

Some players are already calling it a cross between Benzies’ earlier work, Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs, and Deus Exa pretty compelling mix, to say the least. The community is praising the visuals, the mission editor, the tactical approach to combat, and the game’s quick, adrenaline-pumping pace.

Now all that’s left is to wait — just a few more days until launch.
