Brendan Greene confirms.
When the game’s creator went on to make a Reddit AMA a couple of weeks ago he mentioned a single player mode for the highly popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Turns out it was just his wishful thinking for now. Talking to Gamespot at PAX Aus he said that the team has no resources or time at this point to delve into a single player experience.
Greene also mentioned that there is a lore behind PUBG’s world but rather than being a base for a story it was created to give artists a direction when designing the game’s world.
The focus for the team is now bringing the game to Xbox One and tinkering with cross-play between that and Windows.
“The experience is going to be the same on both platforms, we really want these players to play together, how we do that fairly is another question. It’s something we’re looking into, but right now we don’t have anything to say about it. But we would like to see it happen. But how we do that requires a bit of work.”
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is in Early Access on PC right now.
