Obsidian has announced that their upcoming nautical cRPG Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is delayed from its original release date of April 3rd, mostly to iron out the kinks and polish what needs to be polished. The new release date of PoE2 is May 8th, which is not fun, but perhaps we should all be glad that for once in their time Obsidian actually has the time to properly finish their game. Giving Obsidian more time always pays off.
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is going to be a classic RPG adventure in the style of Infinity Engine-era productions like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, giving you control over a team of adventurers venturing out into the world. Set in the Deadfire archipelago PoE2 introduces new locales, new game mechanics, like ship battles, and revamped progression in addition to many visual and audio enhancements.
