Obsidian Entertainment aims to release the game in Q1 2018.

As you may know, Obsidian Entertainment was teasing this project in the last few days. It is now confirmed that Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is on the way and the developers once again ask for your pledges in a crowdfunding process.

The original Pillars of Eternity was created thanks to funds gathered on Kickstarter ($3,986,929 pledged then). This time the project will use the Fig platform to collect pledges – the same platform that the upcoming Wasteland 3 used to gain funds.

Obsidian’s team plans to add more life to NPCs, with their daily routines and behaviour based on weather. There are AI changes on the way, as well as grand upgrades in dynamic lighting and shadows.

The interesting fact is that you’ll be able to use your save file from the original game – it will somehow affect the world of Deadfire. You can see first gameplay elements in the announcement video and there are additional details on the Fig campaign page.
