That was one of the most interesting crowdfunding campaigns to observe.

Since our last update about Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, Obsidian’s team managed to gather more than a $1 million in additional pledges. As of now, the campaign on Fig is over, but if you were late, there will be other forms to support developers before the release.

Thanks to the stretch goals beyond $3 million additional features will be included. Four sidekicks will be added to the game – they serve as semi-companions, with only basic quests, but with their different classes and abilities you’ll be able to better customize your team.

It was also revealed that instead of a stronghold, which we owned in the first game, this time we’ll travel on a unique ship. With pledges beyond $3.5 more ship upgrade options will be available and all players will be able to visit additional, fully explorable islands. Portuguese and Simplified Chinese were added to the language list. And we will be able to equip a Talking Soulbound Weapon!

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to hire and manage a crew for our ship – unless funds gathered from additional pledges after the campaign will allow developers to spend time on it.
