The full list of categories and Winners below, a real cross-section of the best video games of the year, and after that: announcements and updates!

The trailers included some heavy hitters, such as the announcement of the next mainline Monster Hunter game, and a collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele in OD, a game that’s surely going to be as inscrutable as Death Stranding was. There was even a surprising blast from the past: the announcement of World of Goo 2, a sequel to a delightful puzzle game from 2008.

The update-type trailers included the release date of anticipated Black Myth Wukong, an impressive trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, and even a DLC for God of War: Ragnarök, a roguelike gauntlet mode of sorts.

Of course, there were many more trailers to see, it was quite a showcase. This was a very busy year for games, so it’s not surprising that TGA was just as intense.
