Wake Island Returns to Battlefield 6
The timing of the free trial is particularly good for long-time Battlefield fans because Wake Island returns on August 18.
The map has been rebuilt around Battlefield 6’s modern scale and Season 4 naval systems while preserving the recognizable island layout. Players can fight across the coastline, destroy fortified positions, use aircraft, and operate around an offshore carrier.
Tsuru Reef also gets an expansion with playable aircraft carriers. In standard Conquest and Escalation matches, carriers appear as part of the environment, while the full carrier assault mechanics are reserved for Top Gun: Carrier Strike.
What Else Is Included in Battlefield 6 Update 1.4.2.0?
The Top Gun event is the headline addition, but Update 1.4.2.0 also includes broader gameplay work.
The patch improves aircraft controls, vehicles, weapons, gadgets, underwater movement, UI and HUD elements, audio, AI, Portal, and REDSEC. Portal also receives Custom Lobbies, while Wake Island joins Verified Experiences.
REDSEC’s Fort Lyndon receives a new Crashed Carrier point of interest, giving the free-to-play side of Battlefield new content even after the Battlefield 6 trial ends.
