Dead by Daylight is crossing paths with The Walking Dead. Finally.

The long-running asymmetrical horror PvP is finally getting its the Walking Dead crossover Survivors, and it’s weird it took that long for it to happen.

The characters in question are Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes and Michonne, bereft of her iconic sword. They are, of course, joining the survivors, bringing their own perks into the mix. Daryl Dixon unfortunately only makes an appearance as a Legendary Outfit. Sorry, Norman Reedus’ fans!

Dead by Daylight | The Walking Dead

The trailer is pretty vague, but it’s not all we have to go on. Let’s talk about the perks developer Behaviour Interactive detailed on the game’s blog.

Rick Grimes

Apocalyptic Ingenuity – Rick can craft a Fragile Pallet out of a Broken pallet after searching a chest.

Come and Get Me! – as an active ability, Rick can draw attention to himself after saving a Survivor from the Hook. This talent makes him visible to the Killer, but at least it silences other hurt or even dying Survivors and hides the Pools of Blood. Brave gambit, are you skilled enough to pull it off?

Teamwork: Toughen Up – apparently it’s best used with a party member, which makes sense, given the name. If you’re injured, and a teammate blinds or stuns the Killer, your own visibility will be lower.

Michonne

Conviction – after healing another Survivor, Michonne gains the ability to remove the Downed state from herself… for a moment. If you don’t mind the duration and heal up, you’ll be left Broken and Dying after the ability runs its course.

Last Stand – spending sufficient time in the Killer’s Terror Radius allows Michonne to stun them by fast vaulting. Unfortunately, it only works once: after the first successful use it becomes unavailable for the current Trial.

Teamwork: Throw Down – after you blind or Pallet-stun a Killer, nearby injured Survivors get extra Endurance and can see Killer’s aura for a moment. It’s designed to Synergize with Rick’s own Teamwork perk.

Ok, but when?

Rick and Michonne enter the Entity’s Realm on July 29, but if The Walking Dead DbD Chapter has you anxious to give it a shot, you can already play Rick in the PTB. Unfortunately, Michonne is currently unavailable for playtesting, despite being present in the menus.
