2XKO has one last fighter hiding up its sleeve. Riot Games has revealed Sett as the surprise final addition to the roster, joining the previously announced Samira when the League of Legends fighting game receives its last major content update on October 27, 2026.

Samira had already been positioned as the last champion coming before active development ends, making Sett’s appearance a genuine last-minute reveal. Riot now says the pair will complete the 2XKO roster.

Important: 2XKO is not shutting down in December. Riot is ending active development, but the servers are planned to remain online and offline play will continue to work.

Sett finally enters the ring

Sett always looked like an obvious candidate for a traditional fighting game, and his 2XKO version leans straight into that reputation. The Boss is a heavy brawler with powerful punches, armored attacks, grabs, and tools designed to force his way through opponents who would rather keep him at a distance.

The reveal trailer also shows off one particularly appropriate tag-fighter trick: Sett can drag the opposing team’s second character into the punishment, including a Super that smashes the two enemies together. He also appears to have a powered-up state that makes his already brutal offense even harder to ignore.

Samira brings the style

Samira arrives on the same day with a very different approach. She mixes sword attacks with her dual pistols and rewards players for varying their offense through a style-ranking mechanic inspired by her League of Legends kit.

Together, Sett and Samira make October 27 a considerably bigger farewell update than expected. Riot’s earlier roadmap only identified Samira as the final October champion.

The last major update, but not the last patch

The October update is planned as 2XKO’s final major content patch. Riot still intends to release one last bug-fix-focused patch in December before the game enters what it calls its evergreen state, with no further planned content updates.

Riot announced the end of active development in August after concluding that player retention and engagement were not high enough to make continued development sustainable. The company had already removed Ranked, Battle Passes, seasons, and several progression systems while unlocking the champion roster for everyone.

The game itself will remain free to download on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Private and casual matches will continue, while tournament organizers will still be able to run community competitions after official development ends.

One final round

Sett feels like an especially fitting final surprise for a League of Legends fighting game, and pairing him with Samira gives 2XKO two champions built around very different kinds of spectacle for its last major update.
