A Microsoft E3 conference cannot happen without yet another Sea of Thieves gameplay trailer, apparently.

The good news is that the pirate co-op game from Rare is still being developed. The bad news is that we won’t be able to team up and AAAARGH for a while, yet. Here’s a gameplay trailer that presents some of the elements of the game: exploring sunken ships, dungeon-crawling and fighting enemy vessels:

Rare is a beloved British development team established way back in 1985. The company is known for such fan-favorites as Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye 007, Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct and Battletoads. Sea of Thieves is their first major game since 2008, when Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts was released.

Sea of Thieves looks like a fun co-op pirate-themed adventure. It’s a shame that years pass and we are still waiting for its release.

The game is going to release in “early 2018,” whatever that means, which is a bummer because everyone thought it will be a launch title for the new Xbox One X. Alas, that is not the case and we will have to wait a bit longer for the Sea of Thieves to make port.
