Starfield
Release Date: September 06, 2023
Genres: Shooter, Role-playing (RPG), Adventure
If the date proves accurate, it would mark one of the more interesting moves tied to the ongoing Microsoft multi platform strategy shift. A few years ago, the idea of an Xbox exclusive coming to PlayStation would have sounded borderline impossible. Today? We’re hearing more and more about Xbox titles landing on competing platforms.

Starfield PS5 April 7 Leak Details
The source is Billbil-kun from Dealabs — a name many PlayStation fans recognize. The Billbil kun Starfield leak is being taken seriously largely because of his impressive track record. His history of accurately revealing PlayStation release dates and pricing before official announcements has given him quite a reputation.
According to the report, Starfield would launch on April 7, 2026. The game is reportedly set to release in two editions, with Standard vs Premium edition pricing looking like this:
| Edition | Price |
|---|---|
| Standard Edition | £44.99 / €49.99 / $54.99 |
| Premium Edition | £69.99 / €69.99 / $74.99 |
That would establish the official Starfield PlayStation 5 price tiers at noticeably lower levels than the original launch MSRP.
Interestingly, no early access is expected this time — even for the Starfield Premium Edition PS5. That’s worth highlighting because when the game launched on Xbox and PC in 2023, buyers of the more expensive editions could start playing several days earlier. This time, it seems everyone would begin their space journey simultaneously.
What About The “2.0” Update?
For months, rumors have circulated about a major update informally labeled “2.0.” Some fans hoped for a sweeping overhaul of core systems. Studio head Todd Howard, however, tempered expectations.
Here is the full Todd Howard 2.0 clarification quote:
“It is not Starfield 2.0. (…) It’s updates and things that change the game, not in an isolated way, but [in a] sort of meta [way] – using outer space and things in ways that we haven’t. But look, if Starfield is something that didn’t connect with you right away, or you bounced off it or found it boring in places, I don’t think this is going to change that fundamentally.”
In other words: improvements, yes. A complete reinvention? No. If the core gameplay didn’t resonate with someone before, this likely won’t radically change their mind.
Waiting For Confirmation
For now, everything remains unofficial. But if pre-orders truly are scheduled for mid-March, an announcement may be imminent. And if that happens, Bethesda’s massive space adventure could soon open its airlocks to a whole new audience.
