It’s really a great big pot of games.

Steam Direct has allowed more and more games to hit the platform with relative ease and this translates into a flood of titles being added to the catalog.

Following Daniel Ahmad’s, an analyst for Niko Partners, twitter we learn that this October the number of games released has already topped the whole of 2016 and will probably reach 6 000 by the end of the year.

With just a $100 dollar fee and a few documents, anyone can publish on Steam. This has led to the platform being unable to get to grips with the ever-growing library. Reviews, curators and the like were just small patches to the system.
