Since PlayStation already had its time in the spotlight, it was only far for Xbox to hog some of that attention as well, with its own showcase.
What does PS’s biggest competitor have in store (the Microsoft Store) for us? Let’s dive in and see without wasting more air!
Everything presented at the Xbox games showcase
The Outer Worlds 2
The world of Arcadia is being liberated by any means necessary, whether it wants, and needs, to be liberated or not.
The Outer Worlds 2 got its gameplay trailer, showing off combat, environmental interactions, bits of exploration, and the general vibe. It does look like a proper sequel alright, hopefully it won’t go fully immersive shooter and the narrative RPG elements will be fleshed out as well.
The Outer Worlds 2 launches on October 22 for, as the trailer lists it, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud, Battle.net, Steam, and PS5.
High on Life 2
If you wanted more of the wacky humor and writing of High on Life, good news, the game from Squanch Games is getting a full sequel. We’re getting more guns which are actually goofy creatures, more bursts of wild action, and a new story about trying to save humanity, because there’s no end to meddling aliens, ever.
You’ll get High on Life again this winter, and it will launch for Xbox (Series, PC, Cloud), Steam, Epic, and PS5.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
Out of seemingly nowhere comes a new story in the universe of A Plague Tale: Innocence and Requiem. Resonance takes place in Greece, and stars a new protagonist, Sophia, who goes on a mysterious adventure involving the mythical Minotaur and the inventions of Deadalus himself. Unlike previous Tales, this one will seemingly involve a lot more direct combat, as well.
Resonance will launch sometime in 2026 for Xbox (Series, PC, Cloud), Steam, and PS5.
ROG Xbox Ally
Microsoft also revealed its collaboration with ASUS, resulting in a Xbox-specific version of the ROG Ally handheld console. It will come in two variants:
- Xbox Ally with 16GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, and being powered by AMD Ryzen Z2A
- Xbox Ally X with 24 RAM, 1TB of storage, and AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme
It will not be limited to Xbox games, however. Despite the name it’s going to handle other PC stores/launchers, such as Steam.
In a wild move, this presentation was also the first place where we’ve seen anything new about Hollow Knight: Silksong. It didn’t even get a dedicated trailer, but at this point. Does it even need one?
Xbox Ally Is planned for launch for “Holiday 2025”.
The Blood of Dawnwalker
The vampire-themed open world action RPG from a studio partially composed by people who worked on The Witcher finally got a new trailer, and it’s a good one, too. We got a look at the plot premise, and even at a decent slice of gameplay, including combat, movement, and vampiric powers. It looks very promising and quite spectacular.
It’s expected to release in 2026 for Xbox (series, PC, Cloud), Steam, and PS5.
Super Meat Boy 3D
Meat Boy is back! The super bloody, and yet oddly cute game about a heroic, vaguely human shaped, literal lump of raw meat was a hit 2D platformer back in 2010 and it hasn’t seen a lot of action… until now. Super Meat Boy 3D pushes the series into the third dimension, which makes everything look even friendlier… at least until you inevitably jump face-first into a chainsaw or something and have to start the sequence over.
SMB3D is set for an “Early 2026” release on Xbox (Series, PC, Cloud) Steam, Epic, and PS5.
Ninja Gaiden 4
We got a new look at the upcoming Ninja Gained 4, breathing a new air into a slightly neglected series of fast-paced, difficult slashers. The trailer was quite substantial, showing off a bunch of bosses (a ghost? in a megalodon onesie looks especially fun), combat against mooks, some of the spectacular special attacks, and a few story teasers.
Slicing and dicing will commence on October 21, on the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: the Order of Giants
Did you think Indiana’s journey was over? Not quite yet. There’s still some fire left in the popculture’s most famous archaeologist. In this case, there’s a DLC coming for the recent Indiana Jones game, and it will apparently involve the secrets of the famous Nephilim from biblical traditions.
Indiana will tango with the giants on September 5, arriving to the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
Beast of Reincarnation
Did you know GameFreak, the studio that’s been making Pokémon games for the last 30 years, makes other games as well, sometimes? Like this one. Beast of Reincarnation looks like an incredibly stylish and spectacular melee-oriented action game set in a dangerous land of monsters and danger. It certainly is much closer to games such as Black Myth Wukong than anything Pokémon-related.
Beast of Reincarnation arrives in 2026 to the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
Clockwork Revolution
InExile Entertainment is making a really interesting-looking steampunk RPG with all kind of fun stuff like automatons, clockwork prosthetics, extremely aristocratic snobbish fops, and time-travel which reaches out of the story and into your immediate gameplay. There’s also first-person action, including cool (still steampunk) guns, amongst other stuff. Definitely worth keeping an eye on!
The Clockwork Revolution begins… eventually and will launch for the Steam ecosystem and Steam.
Grounded 2
Who could have expected that the survival game about being whimsically shrunk to the size of an ant would get a sequel? Grounded 2 is getting new animals, new regions, new items, and a new story following up on the plot threads from the first one.
Grounded 2 arrived on July 29 as Game preview on the Xbox Ecosystem and Early Access on Steam.
Cronos: the New Dawn
A new original game from Bloober team, a science fiction horror with more than enough gruesome sights involved. The trailer shows off various locations, combat, and the general art style. It does appear to tap into the same kind of horror the Stranger Things’ Upside Down did, except even nastier, which is great.
Cronos is planned for Fall 2025, and arriving on the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, Epic, and PS5.
The Elder Scrolls Online
The lively The Elder Scrolls MMO got an equally lively trailer promoting not just the game in general, but also the Seasons of the Worm story arc and the upcoming server-wide event which promises to have lasting consequences for the world, based on player accomplishments.
The event itself is coming in October.
Aphelion
From Life of Strange makers Don’t Nod comes a science fiction story about an astronaut stranded on a dangerous planet. Knowing Don’t Nod’s talents, there will be a pleasant degree of narrative choice and plenty of hard decisions influencing a quite possibly heartbreaking ending. As it should be.
Aphelion arrives in 2026 for the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
No Ghosts at the Grand
Are you into chill games with mysteries unfolding? No Ghosts at the Grand is a first-person perspective house renovation and décor game. You’ll get a mighty décor gun (probably not the actual name) capable of sprucing up any living space… and also your handy tool for solving the weird happening in the town you’re working in. If you’ve always wished Powerwash Simulator was way more overtly weird, try this one.
The weirdest renovation job you’ve ever takes comes in 2026 for the Xbox ecosystem and Steam.
Age of Mythology: Retold – Heavenly Spear
Age of Mythology: Retold is getting a new update, bringing in the pantheon of Japanese deities. The trailer suggest it’s going to be a proper story-driven campaign, too.
It’s planned for Fall 2025, and will launch on the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
Mudang: Two Hearts
Mudang is shaping up to be an interesting game. Staring dual protagonists, a grizzled soldier and a K-pop idol, trying to survive in a zombie(?)-infested city using their aptitudes for violence and sneaking around. It’s a stealth-action game that’s increasingly rare, and the Korean horror elements mixed in with political thriller are intriguing.
Mudang comes in 2026 for the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, Epic, and PS5.
Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf
A sequel to a 2023 puzzle-platform about a girl trying to rescue her sister abducted by aliens invading their lush world. The sequel is very welcome, and the trailer suggest the troubles return, but also that the world is somehow even more stunning.
Planet of Lana II comes in 2026 for the Xbox ecosystem (including Xbox One), Steam, PS4 & 5, and Nintendo Switch.
Fallout 76: Gone Fission
We’re not sure if this is the path to making fishing much more rad, but it’s certainly a path! Fallout 76, the multiplayer survival FO game is getting more than just a fishing minigame: it’s a full fishing subsystem, complete with blueprints for the kind of fishing shop/shelter your fishing-obsessed grandpa would love to have in real life.
You can, ahem, go fission right now!
Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive
Giant monsters, impressive powers, and a Devil May Cry-tier spectacle. This is what’s coming with Solo Leveling Arise: overdrive, an adaptation of a popular action anime. Despite the name, it’s going to have a 4-player co-op, so you won’t be alone during your solo leveling, which is nice.
Solo Leveling is coming to Xbox PC and Steam sometime during Fall 2025, and in 2026 for Xbox Series and Cloud.
Aniimo
There’s never enough games featuring collectible cute creatures. Aniimo seems like it could be a great competitor to Pokémon, at least on the “using helpful monsties for exploration and combat” in a more detailed, dynamic manner than is typically present in Pokémon. It’s fully 3d, for one, action-oriented rather than turn-based, and apparently lets you run around as the cute creatures, with is a big plus.
Aniimo comes in 2026 for the Xbox ecosystem.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4
The world’s best skateboarding sim got a proper launch-themed gameplay trailer, showing all the tricks, ollies, and dangerous stunts you could hope for. It also comes with Doomslayer and Revenant skater avatars, because why not, things used to be fun like that back in the day.
THPS 3 4 launches on July 11 for the Xbox ecosystem (with Xbox One), Battle.net, Steam, PS4 & 5, and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2.
At Fate’s End
The studio behind Spiritfarer has a new gorgeous adventure in the works, and this one is much more action-packed and heroic than the lovely and peaceful predecessor. At Fate’s End appears to be a 2D action game, with an intriguing system involving connections between characters represented through cards.
At Fate’s End will arrive in 2026 to the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, Epic, and PS5.
Gear of War: Reloaded
It’s been a long time since we’ve last seen anything Gears of War-related. It’s nice to see the original entry, a game which had genuinely changed shooter for years to come, remastered and uplifted to look good on modern screens and work well on modern machines. And it’s going multiplatform, including crossplay.
GoW Reloaded deploys on August 26 for the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
Persona 4 Revival
Another refreshed edition of a classic on the docket, this time’ it’s the psychic RPG and the predecessor to the incredible Persona 5.
There’s no release date yet, but the game will launch for the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
Sea of Thieves
The co-op piratical adventure Sea of Thieves is getting a new season, called Smuggler’s Tide, bringing in a bunch of enticing and undeniably dangerous smuggling opportunities.
It’s coming in August, and will be available for the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, PS5, and Battle.net.
Invincible Vs.
Who expected a fighting games based on the Invincible series? It’s going to be a 3v3 tag team game starring some of the iconic characters from the comics and the show. Of course, a staggering degree of on-screen violence is to be expected.
It’s coming in 2026 for the Xbox ecosystem, Steam, and PS5.
Final Fantasy VII Remake
The remake of an absolute classic is finally coming to Xbox after a long time on PlayStation and PC.
It’s coming this winter.
Final Fantasy XVI

It’s out now.
Keeper
Double Fine, the studio currently most famous for Psychonauts, is making a new relentlessly odd game about a lighthouse on legs travelling around a gorgeous, vibrant world with a friendly bird. What is that about? Who knows, but Double Fine know how to make things interesting, gripping, and weird in all the best possible ways.
It will come on October 17 for the Xbox ecosystem and Steam.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7
There is something going on in this trailer, but it’s hard to tell what exactly.
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 launches at some unspecified point in the future.
A lot to unbox
