Nintendo finally confirmed and fully announced the existence of its yet another retro console.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System released originally in 1991. For many it’s one of the most beloved consoles with gaming classics like Super Mario World and Super Metroid. Now the hardware is getting re-release in a modernized version, similar to the now rare NES Classic.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition, as it is briefly called, will release on September 29th. It will offer 21 pre-installed games:

  • Contra III: The Alien Wars
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • EarthBound
  • Final Fantasy III
  • F-Zero
  • Kirby Super Star
  • Kirby’s Dream Course
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Mega Man X
  • Secret of Mana
  • Star Fox
  • Star Fox 2
  • Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
  • Super Castlevania IV
  • Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  • Super Mario Kart
  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Super Mario World
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Punch-Out!!
  • Yoshi’s Island

SNES Classic will be available at a suggested retail price of $79.99. If you are interested, you should preorder the console ASAP – NES Classic happened to be a hard thing to get and while more units of the new hardware will be produced, it’s expected to be rare as well.
