After the initial reveal left many people annoyed for a variety of reasons, Paradox and The Chinese Room walked back the decision to put two clans behind a paywall and instead incorporate them into the game proper, no strings attached.

The Toreador and Lasombra clans were initially only available pre-release as a part of the more expensive editions of Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, as we have covered previously. Now, after waves of feedback (or varying tone and nature) that decision has been reviewed and what should have been a part of the core game, will be.

The announcement came with a new overview trailer showing off both base game features and the DLCs.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 - Overview Trailer

It’s a pretty promising trailer, too. It shows off a bit of the map, some snapshots of gameplay, including clan powers, feeding on hapless mortals, and some much-desired role-playing elements, like character customization, backstory formation, and conversations. It does looks pretty interesting. Maybe not exactly in the way fans of the original hoped for, but the trailer is somewhat reminiscent of Deus Ex: Human Revolution / Mankind Divided, which is a good thing.

Of course, it’s a triple-A game, so some DLC are still there, and also shown off in the trailer above.

The first is Santa Monica Memories: effectively a cosmetic pack which will let you style your in-game haven after the fashion of your crappy Santa Monica apartment from Bloodlines 1.

The second and third are stories parallel to the main campaign. Loose Cannon and The Flower and the Flame will have you playing as other characters, Sheriff Benny and Artistic Ysabella, showing their perspectives on what’s going on. The story packs are planned for a Q2 2026 and Q3 2026 releases, respectively.

Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 sticks to its planned release date on October 21st, just over a month from now.
