Titanfall 2’s already stellar set of gameplay modes gets an additional treat.

Operation Frontier Shield is the next free update for the financially underperforming but otherwise fantastic shooter. The main attraction is going to be a completely new mode called Frontier Defense.

It’s as classic as a cooperative horde can get. You encounter wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies, while cash earned for performance can be spent between fights to improve or upgrade your gear.

The fun begins when you start thinking of what Titanfall 2 has to offer, with its asymmetric gameplay and plethora of special abilities which are bound to complement each other when up to 4 players enter the battlefield. Oh, and there’s a new map as well, a blast from the first installment – Rise.

The update goes live on 25 July.
