Some smaller in scale titles are going to accompany the main games from the IP.

Creative Assembly announced through a blog post a new series of Total War games subtitled Saga. “With our big releases that cover entire eras, like Rome or Empire, we’ve been following them up with standalone games that focus on a single character’s life and the time around them; like Napoleon or Attila. But there are also these key, pivotal points in history which don’t necessarily revolve around a single character, and only lasted a few months or few decades at most. Such moments also tend to be constrained to a tight geographic area as well.,” we read.

Such pivotal moments will be the focus point of Total War Saga games. They will still be turn-based titles with real-time battles. You won’t see many changes gameplay-wise, but instead, these titles will focus on a specific characters, regions or events. Devs compare Saga games to what they’ve achieved with Fall of the Samurai.

The first Total War Saga game will be a follow-up to Total War: ROME II “like Total War: ATTILA”. Expect the full announcement to come in the near future.
