It’s yet another try to improve the overall experience.

Multiplayer games have always had the problem with abusive behavior from certain players ruining the experience for others. And so many ideas have been implemented from tougher penalties for better reporting.

Blizzard apparently found another way to deal with unpleasant players by simply muting them. It looks as if player marked as ones to avoid on Xbox Live are now automatically muted when they join an online game of Overwatch.

“Players whose Xbox Live reputation has been downgraded to ‘Avoid Me’ will remain in the same matchmaking pool as other Overwatch players. However, they will no longer be able to use the in-game voice communication.”

Blizzard said before that they are annoyed with the constant need to police their community wasting time that could otherwise be used for speeding up updates.
