Joe Carnahan has confirmed that his draft of the movie’s scenario is done.

Game-based movies are a tricky thing. As we’ve seen with the latest releases of Assassin’s Creed and World of Warcraft movies, reviews can be harsh. Sometimes it’s about long development and scenario problems. It’s the case with the Mass Effect movie and, at least up until now, with the Uncharted IP.

The quote visible above comes directly from Joe Carnahan (The Grey, The A-Team) – the person tasked lately to rewrite Uncharted’s script. “If there’s a more monstrously cool action script in Hollywood right now, I wanna read it, ‘cuz this thing is a BEAST.,” he wrote.

The Uncharted movie was set to release in May 2017, but with the scenario just finished it’s only a first step in a long development process. Shawn Levy will direct with Nathan Drake’s role previously connected to Mark Wahlberg and Seth Gordon. Now the search for the lead actor continues.
