Here come the Elders.
War for the Atlas is the latest expansion for the free-to-play action RPG Path of Exile. It focuses on the endgame completely reworking lot of things.
It adds 32 maps to the mix, each with its own new boss as well as four Elder Guardians we have to defeat to get to the big boss, the Elder.
The new big bad guy will be fighting for the realm with the old guy, Shaper, and this will have implications on the world you discover and the loot you gather in certain locations. All depending on how the fight unfolds.
There will also be new equipment and gems available as well as the Abyss which functions a bit like the game’s horde mode.
