TennoCon 2025 has unveiled Warframe’s plans for the next year of content. Among the announcements, a major narrative quest titled The Old Peace was highlighted, alongside a new demon-themed Warframe named Uriel and long-requested tutorial improvements focused on the Mod system.

Warframe’s Next Chapter Begins with The Old Peace

Kicking off this year’s updates is the cinematic quest The Old Peace, described as the next big chapter and a direct lead-in to the Tau update planned for 2026. Players will head back to a version of Tau’s past, meet a young Sentient named Adis, and witness the clash between Orokin forces and Dax Anarch Warriors on the Perita moon. While there’s no exact launch date, it’s scheduled for 2025. To tide players over, the Lullaby of the Manifold track from the reveal trailer is going live on major music platforms on July 21. That same day, Valkyrie gets a premium Heirloom Collection with new cosmetics.

The update also includes a side story called The Devil’s Triad, introducing three new characters connected to both lore and gameplay: Father Lyon Allard, the Protoframe of Harrow, Marie Leroux, the Protoframe of Wisp, and Uriel, the new Warframe with a dark, infernal theme.

Besides characters, players can expect a new enemy faction, a major Focus expansion with a new Operator ability, and a full visual overhaul for Operators. This includes new models, upgraded cosmetic systems, and much better facial animations.

New Systems, Tutorials, and Collaborations on the Way

October is shaping up to be a busy month. Digital Extremes will collaborate with Paizo to bring Warframe to tabletop in both digital and physical formats. The Android closed beta is also planned to go live during this time, with sign-ups opening soon.

One of the biggest October additions is a new tutorial quest called The Teacher. Built in collaboration with Sumo Digital, it’s designed to explain Warframe’s Mod upgrade system in a clear and approachable way. This quest targets players who’ve been overwhelmed by the complexity of Mods in the past.

That same patch will also include a rework of Oberon, a deluxe Lavos skin, and several practical improvements across the game. Details will be shared during a livestream in September. Caliban Prime Access is also confirmed and will arrive soon.

Warframe’s 2025 Roadmap Signals a Shift in Focus

This roadmap feels like a turning point. It’s not labeled as a full reboot, but it does show Digital Extremes wants to lean deeper into story-driven content after wrapping up the last saga. The Old Peace feeding directly into Tau suggests a more structured approach to storytelling.

Accessibility is another major theme this year. The Teacher directly addresses years of community feedback and the Android beta helps open up the game to a wider group of players across more devices.

Longtime fans are getting plenty of nods too. Between the Valkyrie Heirloom set, the Lavos skin, Oberon’s long-awaited rework, and the introduction of new Warframes and Protoframes, the studio clearly wants to reward its loyal players while still welcoming newcomers.

Warframe The Old Peace Future

Looking ahead, Tau in 2026 is expected to be a major narrative moment. The team has even mentioned the possibility of launching Warframe on the next Nintendo system by then. The involvement of external partners like Sumo Digital and Paizo shows how serious Digital Extremes is about growing and improving how people experience Warframe.

The studio’s broader strategy is clear. They’re not just focusing on adding content, but on improving how players learn, explore, and stay invested over time. Smaller touches like better cosmetics, streamlined systems, and smoother onboarding show that attention is being given to how Warframe feels day to day. Players old and new are being met where they are, whether they’ve been with the game for a decade or are picking it up for the first time. That mix of familiarity and fresh direction gives Warframe the momentum it needs going into 2026.
