Wizards of the Coast and Blizzard Entertainment have officially announced a Dungeons & Dragons collaboration with World of Warcraft.
The crossover will launch a new D&D initiative called Universes Beyond, which adapts major outside franchises for the tabletop role-playing game.

Format: 256-page tabletop gameplay expansion
Setting: Azeroth
Wide release: November 17, 2026
D&D Beyond Master Tier early access: November 3, 2026
Additional content: Icecrown Citadel Adventure Map Pack and digital adventure
TL;DR – D&D: World of Warcraft
Azeroth Comes to the Tabletop
The 256-page D&D: World of Warcraft gameplay expansion will let groups run campaigns across Azeroth using the current D&D rules. It includes 11 new playable species, six new subclasses, three updated subclasses, more than 60 spells, over 50 monsters and seven tabletop adaptations of familiar World of Warcraft dungeons.
Players will be able to recreate their existing WoW characters or build new heroes connected to the Horde, Alliance and more than 20 other factions. A separate Icecrown Citadel map pack and digital adventure will adapt the Lich King’s raid for characters between levels 16 and 20.
The expansion launches on November 17, 2026, with D&D Beyond Master Tier early access beginning November 3.
D&D Items Head to World of Warcraft

The collaboration also extends into Blizzard’s MMO. Eligible physical and digital editions will include a code for four exclusive World of Warcraft items inspired by D&D: a Black Dragon mount, a Gazer pet, a Mimic Chest toy and Mimic Chest housing decor.
D&D’s official Dungeon Masters actual-play series will also visit Azeroth for its third campaign, scheduled to begin on September 23.
Important note: The World of Warcraft in-game items require a Battle.net account and an active World of Warcraft subscription and license. They are not compatible with World of Warcraft Classic.
More Crossovers Are Planned
World of Warcraft is only the first franchise joining D&D through Universes Beyond. Wizards of the Coast has already confirmed a Star Wars collaboration for its Season of Rebellion in 2027, although details about its books and gameplay content have not yet been announced.

Check your region before buying
WoW game time and Blizzard gift cards can be region- or currency-specific. Always check the product title, activation region, currency, Battle.net account requirements and seller notes before buying on G2A.COM.
Why this crossover matters
This is a natural crossover because World of Warcraft already feels close to tabletop fantasy in structure: classes, factions, dungeons, raids, monsters, reputations, legendary enemies and party roles are all part of its identity.
The interesting part is the direction of travel. Instead of adapting D&D into a video game, this expansion brings a major MMO back to the tabletop, where Dungeon Masters can reshape Azeroth, remix familiar raids and let players turn old mains into new dice-driven heroes.
If D&D: World of Warcraft lands well, Universes Beyond could become one of the biggest new pillars for Dungeons & Dragons: a way to bring massive outside worlds into the fifth edition ruleset without replacing D&D’s own settings.
