The recent 1.3 patch for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers nerfs one of the most criticized mechanics – landmines – and hands out free DLC, as compensation.
After the massive wave of negative reviews that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received on Steam, Leenzee (the game’s developer) released the first patch, fixing some of the most burning issues. Will it help re-engage the fan community with its Soulslike experience?
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers 1.3 – Performance Update, Landmines Nerf, and Grants Free DLC
Among the most requested changes players received, the developer included a landmine rebalance, making them significantly less annoying. The Wuchang July 24 update also addresses other issues regarding VRAM optimization, Low Latency Mode, Reverent Temple, stuttering, crashes, and more.
A Brief Statement from Leenzee Games and 505 Games.

In addition, owners of both the Standard and Deluxe Editions received appropriate rewards and the Original Soundtrack DLC for free as compensation for pre-order bonus issues. That’s not all, as Leenzee also announced that, “We are currently working on a more extensive patch that will be rolling out in the next few days.”
So far, players’ opinions about this patch are mixed. As one user on the r/soulslikes subreddit noted, “Really enjoying the game. Wish you hadn’t made such a bad first impression for so many players with these performance issues.”

Another Steam user states that, “After the patch this seems to have been improved and theses fps now do feel smooth as they should AT TIMES. However, more resource intensive scenes and loading assets STILL CAUSE quite a bit of micro-stuttering.”
While these fixes, especially the Wuchang landmine nerf and the Wuchang free DLC, were welcomed as a tactful compensation, players still raise concerns regarding various performance issues. Fortunately, the developer remains in touch with the player base, which can help rebuild trust and long-term engagement with the community.
As Leenzee and 505 Games promised in their brief statement, “We are also continuously collecting and organizing bug reports and suggestions shared within the community. We sincerely ask for your patience, understanding, and support during this process. Once again, we greatly appreciate all of you.”
