X-COM’s creator starts his crowdfunding campaign

Julian Gollop and his team started collecting pledges for Phoenix Point.

If you’ve played the original X-COM and you know which approach the rebooted IP took, you surely know what to expect from Phoenix Point. Although the crowdfunding campaign on Fig has just started, the game has already gathered 59% of the initial goal.

The team at Snapshot Games led by Julian Gollop wants $500,000 as the starting sum of pledges to improve the development process. Phoenix Point is expected to release in Q4 2018 and you can get an Early Access version with some pricier pledge bundles.

Although it’s a formula well known to people who love tactical turn-based strategies, there are some interesting additions like boss battles, mutating enemies, human factions and heavily destructible environments. You can get all the details on the project’s page.
