Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut is out, and we’ve been treated to an exciting new trailer featuring real actors portraying their in-game roles. Let’s take a quick look at the most important updates.
What’s new in the game
The new version of Yakuza 0 for the Nintendo Switch 2 includes English and Chinese voice-overs, as well as language assistant supporting French, Spanish and Italian, as well as German and Simplified Chinese.
A brand-new online mode called Red Light Raid has been added. It has almost 60 new different characters and there are over 25 minutes of brand-new cutscenes that players have never seen before.
For a quick reminder, Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the entire franchise, following the stories of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima as they navigate the criminal underworld of 1980s Japan.
Their narratives intertwine in many ways, and the gameplay combines intense combat with a variety of fun side activities, giving the game a uniquely humorous tone.
What’s in the trailer
One of the most exciting parts of the Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut promotion is the live-action trailer featuring the game’s three main antagonists. In a humorous and stylized way, the actors reenact memorable scenes from the game.

- Hideo Nakano as Keiji Shibusawa
