October 2026 is going to be a seriously busy month for Nintendo Switch 2.
The calendar runs from upgraded JRPGs and huge third-party ports to rhythm games, survival horror, cozy releases, remasters and a surprisingly large wave of physical editions.
The biggest dates are clustered around the middle and end of the month. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Final Fantasy Resonance and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are among the obvious headliners, while Resident Evil brings three remakes to the hardware on the same day.
There is one important distinction throughout this list. Some entries are genuinely new Switch 2 digital releases, while others are physical launches of games already available digitally. We have labeled those separately so you know exactly what is new in October rather than treating every box release like a brand-new game.

Research basis: Nintendo storefronts, official publisher announcements and official release materials, with retailer listings used where an October date applies specifically to a physical edition.
Checked: Release dates, Switch 2 edition status, physical vs. digital launches and major edition differences current through September 28, 2026.
Table of Contents
October 1-2: Switch 2 editions, JRPGs and Lies of P
Viractal: Will You Trust Your Party? Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Viractal turns a fantasy adventure into a board game powered by dice, cards and deck-building decisions.
The Switch 2 Edition sharpens the presentation, targets 60 fps and adds GameShare support, making its three-player party structure especially well suited to Nintendo’s newer hardware.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Rex and Pyra’s massive JRPG gets another reason to return to Alrest.
The dedicated Switch 2 version improves image quality and performance while adding new content, making this much more interesting than simply running the original Switch release through backward compatibility.
DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered

Omega Force is rebuilding DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 and Xtreme Legends in Unreal Engine 5.
More than 40 officers return, local two-player action is back, and the entire point remains beautifully uncomplicated: walk onto a battlefield and discover how many soldiers one warrior can launch into the air.
Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II

Square Enix is bringing both Octopath Traveler games over as native Switch 2 releases.
The fundamentals remain intact: eight protagonists, HD-2D environments, turn-based combat built around breaking defenses and boosting attacks, and enough individual stories to make choosing a starting traveler a small existential crisis.
Lies of P: Complete Edition
The important word here is physical. Lies of P: Complete Edition arrived digitally on Switch 2 in August, but October 2 brings the boxed edition.
It includes the original Soulslike trip through Krat and the Overture prequel expansion, so this is the complete Pinocchio nightmare rather than a stripped-down port.
October 8-9: Kingdom Hearts, Hell is Us and Dragon’s Dogma 2
DAVE THE DIVER: Complete Edition

Dave’s loop of diving, fishing, restaurant management and increasingly ridiculous side adventures gets a loaded physical package.
The Complete Edition bundles the main game with major additional content, including In the Jungle and crossover DLC. One regional warning: the North American physical release is listed for September 30, while the European version follows on October 8.
Hell is Us

Hell is Us brings Rogue Factor’s unusual exploration-heavy action game to Switch 2.
There is no traditional map, compass or trail of quest markers telling you where to go. Instead, you navigate a semi-open country torn apart by war and supernatural creatures using observation, conversations, a drone and a lot of old-fashioned getting lost.
Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III]

This is the big one for anyone who did not love the original Switch cloud versions.
The collection combines Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind in native Switch 2 packages. In other words, an enormous chunk of Sora’s timeline can now live on the console without being built around cloud streaming.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Switch 2 gets Dragon’s Dogma 2 for the first time through the expanded Dark Arisen release.
The package combines Capcom’s Pawn-driven open-world RPG with a major new northern region, new story material, enemies, equipment and dungeon content. For Nintendo players, this is both a port and the expanded edition at once.

Blue Prince: Day 1 Edition

Blue Prince is already available digitally, so the October date is for its Day 1 physical edition.
That makes it more interesting for collectors who want the architectural puzzle game’s constantly rearranging Mt. Holly estate on the shelf instead of only in an eShop library.
October 14-16: The biggest Switch 2 release pile-up of the month
Ratatan

Ratatan mixes rhythm commands, side-scrolling battles and roguelike progression, with more than 100 little characters potentially filling the screen and online co-op for up to four players.
Anyone who still instinctively remembers Patapon rhythms should understand the appeal almost immediately.
Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Echoes of Teradea pushes Harvest Moon beyond the farm with caves, islands, towns, roaming threats and a broader adventure structure.
The dedicated Switch 2 Edition adds higher resolution, smoother performance and faster loading while keeping the farming, animals and crop-growing loop intact.
Disney/Pixar Toy Story: Retro Roundup! + Toy Story 3 Complete Edition Double Pack
This double pack goes hard on Toy Story nostalgia.
Retro Roundup! gathers classic games with modern conveniences such as rewind and archival material, while Toy Story 3 Complete Edition revives the more open-ended Story Mode and Toy Box experience.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – Voidfarer Edition

Owlcat’s enormous turn-based CRPG has been on Switch 2 digitally before October, but the Voidfarer Edition gives physical collectors another route into the Koronus Expanse.
It is aimed squarely at players who want party building, dialogue choices, tactical combat and a frankly irresponsible amount of Warhammer lore.
House Flipper 2

House Flipper 2 trades galactic war for dirty windows and questionable wallpaper.
Story Mode and Sandbox Mode both make the jump, alongside online co-op for up to four players, so you can finally discover which of your friends can be trusted with a virtual paint roller.
Bluey’s Happy Snaps

Bluey and Bingo swap traditional platforming for a photography adventure around Brisbane.
You explore, find wildlife, snap pictures, build a scrapbook and can bring a second player along locally in Buddy Mode. It is a much gentler October launch than most of what surrounds it.
Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong physical editions

October 16 is a good day to own a shelf.
Fangamer’s Switch 2 physical editions of Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong are scheduled to ship that day. Silksong’s version is particularly notable because it marks the game’s first physical release.
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition

Capcom is dropping an entire survival-horror trilogy onto Switch 2 on the same day.
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition all arrive digitally on October 16. RE4 Gold also bundles Separate Ways and its additional content.
LEGO Harry Potter Collection

Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 return together in a remastered Switch 2 compilation.
It is still the familiar mixture of spells, puzzles, studs, destructible LEGO scenery and local two-player co-op, only now packaged specifically for the newer Nintendo hardware.
October 22-23: Final Fantasy and Call of Duty take over
inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories – Premium Edition

The cozy convenience-store game is not making its digital debut in October.
That happened earlier in the year. October 22 instead brings the Switch 2 Premium Edition on a physical cartridge. The game is set in an early-1990s-inspired Japan where stocking shelves and serving customers gradually turns into a collection of small human stories.
Final Fantasy Resonance
Final Fantasy Resonance is the first Final Fantasy built in Square Enix’s HD-2D style.
Crystals, airships, moogles and espers are all present, while turn-based battles revolve around exploiting weaknesses, staggering opponents and summoning Visions based on familiar Final Fantasy heroes. It looks deliberately old-school without simply trying to recreate one old game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
This is arguably October’s biggest technical statement for Switch 2.
Modern Warfare 4 launches natively on Nintendo hardware alongside PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Campaign, Multiplayer and the new DMZ experience. Eligible digital preorders get Campaign Early Access on October 16, but the full game unlocks on October 23.
G2A Plus: Plus Free lets members collect Plus Points on purchases, while Plus Premium adds better member prices, regular bonuses and rewards, and priority help after purchase.
October 27-30: Coffee Talk, horror, anime and rhythm games
Coffee Talk Tokyo

Coffee Talk Tokyo’s digital Switch 2 version has been available since May 21, so October is about the boxed edition.
The familiar formula moves the late-night café to Tokyo, mixing drink-making, lo-fi music and conversations with both humans and supernatural customers.
Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition

Bloober Team’s psychological-horror anthology gets a large physical package built around Layers of Fear, Inheritance, Layers of Fear 2 and the additional chapters and DLC that connect the series.
If October’s Resident Evil trio is too interested in shooting monsters for your taste, this is the slower and considerably more unstable alternative.
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

The arena fighter moves to Switch 2 with improved presentation and performance while covering the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village and Hashira Training arcs.
Its roster stretches well beyond 40 fighters, making this a much larger Demon Slayer package than the first Hinokami Chronicles.

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT

This is more than a resolution bump for the classic science-fiction visual novel.
Characters, backgrounds and major scenes have been redrawn, Akihabara has been rebuilt with more detail, the soundtrack and Japanese voice work have been refreshed, and new material expands the familiar branching timeline story.
UNBEATABLE – Breakout Edition

UNBEATABLE is a rhythm adventure about a world where music is illegal, wrapped in a loud 1990s-anime-inspired presentation.
The Breakout Edition closes out the month with its Switch 2 physical release, combining the core game with the Breakout content and collector-focused extras.

October is where Switch 2’s third-party push gets serious
The interesting thing about this lineup is not just the number of releases. It is the range. Within one month Switch 2 is getting a native Call of Duty, a new HD-2D Final Fantasy, a Capcom open-world RPG, three Resident Evil games, classic JRPG upgrades, family games, cozy simulators, rhythm games and an unusually healthy physical-release calendar.
If September was the warm-up, October looks much closer to the kind of third-party release schedule Nintendo players have wanted for years: fewer conversations about whether a game can come to Nintendo hardware at all, and a lot more arguments about which one to play first.
