The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an FPP/TPP action-role playing game, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth installment of the cult classic The Elder Scroll series. In the game, set in the region of Skyrim on the Tamriel continent, the player controls the character of Dohvakiin, the Dragon-born, whose task is to stop the ancient dragon Alduin from destroying the world. The Special Edition of the game includes the remastered version of Skyrim with all three released DLCs.

Special Edition of Skyrim introduces several changes to the game, mainly in the graphics. The visual quality has been improved significantly, with new shaders and effects making the world of Skyrim even more beautiful. The SE includes all three DLCs released for the title: Dawnguard. Hearthfire and Dragonborn

The gameplay of epic proportions

The action of TES V takes place on the continent of Tamriel, in the mountainous region called Skyrim. The player begins with creating their character, choosing their sex and race.  The Dragon-born can be leveled up and skill points acquired through that spent on upgrading the character. The game world is an open environment the player can freely traverse. Within Skyrim, there are multiple locations the player can visit, including cities, strongholds, villages, and dungeons. The player can interact with inhabitants of Skyrim through conversation, lethal or non-lethal combat, and even marriage.

The player has a range of weapons at their disposal, including daggers, swords, maces, axes, etc. The player can also use bows and crossbows with different types of arrows as ranged weapons. Some lighter weapons can be dual-wielded while others, heavier ones, require both hands to be used. The player’s character is the Dragon-born, a human imbued with the power of a dragon. As such, the character can use various types of magic. There are several ways of how the player can learn spells from different categories such as Illusion, Conjuration, Destruction, Restoration and Alteration. Each spell has a different effect and consumes a specific amount of magicka, magical energy. The player can replenish it by drinking potions, resting or leveling up.

The story of Dragonborn

The prophecies long foretold his return – Alduin, the Black Dragon, returned from the depths of time to destroy the world, already drowning in the chaos of civil wars. However, the prophecy speaks of someone else as well - a child, born with the soul of a dragon. Dohvakiin, the Dragon-born is the only one who can face Alduin, stop the dragon and save the continent of Tamriel.

Reception

TES V: Skyrim for Xbox One received universal praise from the critics and players. Reviewers praised the game’s mechanics, complex gameplay system, and engrossing open world filled with activity. The game has won a number of awards including GameStop’s RPG of the Year.
