Story

Alan Wake is the titular character, a best-selling author suffering from writer's block, before whose eyes the entire action takes place. Tag along with Alan and his wife as they go on vacation to the peaceful town of Bright Falls despite a nightmare warning about shadowy silhouettes lurking in the corners.

All you know is that your wife has disappeared, and you must find her, being wary of the Taken - shadowy creatures armed with murderous weapons, ranging from knives to even chainsaws.
